Top 3 hybrid cars

3- Chevrolet Volt:
Chevrolet Volt is a plugin hybrid 4-door, 4-passenger family sedan. manufactured by Chevrolet launched in 2010. it's fuel economy is 60 mpg when gasoline and  electric motor combined mode, 93 mpg when in electric mode and 44 mpg when in gasoline mode according to EPA (US Environmental protection Agency)
I believe that, that's the future we are driving. It feels great when you are in it.this car is very quite and comfortable. All touch-display controls, interior is full of quality, comfortable and very stylish. Its plugin feature is very nice, just plug any where in electric plug and it will get charged. it can do 50 mph while using its motor only.
The Volt has standard 1.4-liter, I4, 149-horsepower, hybrid engine that achieves 95-mpg in the city and 90-mpg on the highway,1-speed automatic transmission is standard in it. This car is my favorite in hybrids but sadly it ranked third.

2- Honda civic Hybrid:
Civic Hybrid is Honda’s compact hybrid sedan based on the Civic.
Its a Hybrid sedan however now days in uk is replaced by hatchback version. Has descent looks and figures on papers. launched in the end of 2001. The Civic Hybrid doesn’t stay far from its gasoline cousins. The Civic’s ride and handling reputation of being among the very best in class continues. all-independent suspension, the shorter wheelbase and a stiffer body  and responsive handling. it gets 44/44 mpg city/highway which is quite bit impressive.Though it isn't terribly fast, what I like about the honda civic hybrid is that it can carry up to 5 people. It is more functional and is suitable as a family car. It also pass the crash test rating with a good score of 5.If you have a family and do not need to get anywhere fast, then going with a honda civic hybrid is a good buy. Honda Civic Hybrid's price starts at $24,000. It has a 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine that’s paired with an electric motor
Since the electric motor and the gas engine rotate with each other , the Civic must cut off fuel to the engine to make it easier for the electric motor to do its job. It recharges battrey when you lift off the throttle, when you hit the brakes, or when cruising if the computer determines that the battery needs charging. Honda Civic Hybrid comes fully loaded with features such as continuously variable transmission (CVT), regenerative braking, start/stop system, steering wheel-mounted controls, automatic climate control, power windows, mirrors and door locks. seriously thinking about buying a hybrid car with superior gas mileage that also offers all the benefits of a conventional sedan, you'll want to check out the Honda Civic Hybrid.

1- Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid:
It's world top selling car since 2001 in September 2010, the Prius reached worldwide cumulative sales of 2.0 million units. The Prius is the most fuel-efficient car available today, not including electric vehicles, according to the EPA. The Prius full hybrid system delivers an EPA-estimated 51 mpg city/48 mpg highway/50 mpg combined fuel economy rating.According to edmunds.com "when it comes to high fuel economy, plenty of versatility, and a reasonable price, the 2011 Toyota Prius cannot be beaten".
Review feedback suggests no changes are needed anyway;  testers say that the Toyota Prius is still the best hybrid car available today. In normal driving, the gas engine comes on line instantaneously and both motors power the car, or sometimes the gas motor alone will power the car, the computer gets to decide.
Braking is unique. Prius uses an electronic "brake-by-wire" system. Upon light brake application, the computer sends a signal to the regenerative braking system to slow the vehicle with generator braking. Further application of the brake pedal causes the front disc/rear drum set up to haul the Prius to a stop. ABS is standard in the Prius. The overall experience is incredible smoothness because of the electric motor. The inside is comfortable and roomy. The dash is unusual with center instrumentation as in the Echo, with an LCD screen below containing radio functions and systems operation. The rotary automatic AC controls are located below the radio controls which has a digital clock read out above where the cassette is inserted. But the station readout or operation is read on the LCD screen above. Below the AC is a door for the optional CD or CD changer . The center console is narrow but deep and there are two cupholders in the front and two in the rear in the rear of the console.
The dash is unconventional with a central speedo up on the dash and a LCD screen that tells you what's going on with the systems, fuel economy and the sound system. The AC system worked well in the 100 degree heat. The rear seat is very comfortable for two reasonably sized adults with generous leg and headroom. There is no fold down feature for expanding the trunk, maybe because of the battery pack.
The idea is to continuous charge the batteries and run the generator to power the electric motor with the gas engine when required and to use the electric motor only when conditions permit such as low speed city driving. the Prius is Toyota’s gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle and the third-generation Prius debuted for 2010 with a more powerful engine and improved fuel economy. Prius was the first mass-produced gasoline-electric hybrid when it went on sale in Japan in 1997. Since that time, the Prius has become the best-selling hybrid vehicle in the U.S. and the world. The Toyota Prius entered the U.S. market in 2000, and the second-generation 2004 Prius debuted in the fall of 2003 as the first Toyota product to use Hybrid Synergy Drive, Toyota’s third-generation gas-electric hybrid powertrain technology.
